The Councils meets the third Monday of every month at 7pm at the Coquille Annex Building.

“Someone once asked me to explain how we (watershed councils) know what we are doing is working – are we succeeding in our mission?  I think they were looking for a response about how many miles of stream we have worked on, or how much more habitat we created, or even how many more fish are in the system because of what work has been done.  I told them, in my opinion, that is not really what it is all about.  I know we are successful because we are still here.  What I mean by that is that we still have landowners coming to us for projects, more and more each year.  We are working with people who never thought they would want (or need) restoration work on their land. We are busy enough to keep 11 employees working year-round on restoration work.  People in this small conservative community feel it is important to improve the watershed in which they live, that it isn’t “fine the way it is” and are willing to support the work needed to get it done – far into the future.  That is how I know we are successful.”   -Coordinator, Jennifer Hampel

The Coquille Watershed Association (CWA) has been completing restoration projects for 13 years.  The CWA also completed their Main-stem Assessment - including riparian assessments for every fork of the Coquille River.  They can now use these assessments to plan and prioritize future restoration projects on a sub-basin scale.
