The Council meets every third Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm at the Eastern Oregon Agricultural Research Center in Burns.

This biennium the council was most proud of accomplishing the completion of our Education grant funded in part by OWEB.  This project places interpretive panels on Steens Mountain regarding the Wildlands Juniper Management Area.  This 3,267 acre area is a portion of Steens Mountain, designated by Congress to be used for the purposes of experimentation, education, interpretation and demonstration of management techniques for restoration of historic fire regime and native vegetation communities.  The Council with its partners developed seven interpretive panels regarding the management of western juniper that have been placed on the site.  Estimated visitors to Steens Mountain number around 10,000 per year.

The council also produced an educational video about Juniper Removal entitled  "Value and Success of Juniper Management."   Conatact Coordinator Karen Moon to request a copy.
