The Council meets every second Thursday of the month.

The Council is especially excited about the progress they are making to restore habitat and health to Riley Creek, a small urban stream that flows through Gold Beach and past both the middle and high schools.  The stream historically fed into the Rogue River Estuary and was home to anadromous steelhead, cutthroat, and Pacific lamprey.  In the last two years, with help from OWEB, they have replaced two fish passage culverts, designed replacements for 5 more, and developed a design for in-stream restoration of approximately ½ mile of stream.  A third culvert replacement is scheduled for summer 2011.  Students from both schools use Riley Creek as their out-door laboratory for Watershed Education. Students remove noxious weeds, plant native riparian plants, test water quality, and identify macro invertebrates.  In the last two years, students have documented the return of beaver and numerous anadromous cutthroat trout to the system, and have shared their findings with the Council and residents at neighborhood meetings.
