The Council meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm at Philomath City Hall.

The Marys River Watershed Council is a non-profit, grassroots community organization dedicated to facilitating a healthy and sustainable watershed ecosystem, economy and community. Their current focus is to implement on-the-ground projects, monitor improvements, and develop educational activities that advance the health of the Marys River Watershed.

The council is excited about joining the Willamette Model Watershed Program, because it provides them the ability to focus on long-term results. The council will monitor for ecological change over time, in terms of improved habitat and increases in cutthroat trout distribution and abundance.  More importantly, the additional support will allow them to build long-term relationships with landowners in key stream neighborhoods. The multi-landowner restoration projects build excitement and a new sense of landowner relationship to the stream and to one another. The council intends to nurture landowner curiosity, participation and stewardship over time, to support the emergence of local communities who understand and value their creeks.

Council members and local landowners participate in the Willamette Model Watershed Program.
