The council meets every second Wednesday at 6:30pm in the winter and 7:30pm in the summer at University of Idaho Extension in Marsing ID.
The Owyhee Watershed Council in partnership with the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) sponsors a hydrology camp in the Reynolds Creek Experimental Watershed (RCEW) each year in April. The purpose of the camp is to provide select Owyhee Watershed high school students with the opportunity to gain a better understanding of hydrology. Over a two day period the students are exposed to and participate in conducting snow surveys, measuring stream flow discharge, and assisting with soil moisture measurements. These field activities expose the students to runoff forecasting, stream morphology, and determining potential plant growth in the spring. This camp exposes students to the applicability of science in the “real” world.
