The Council meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 7pm at the Silver Falls Library or adjacent Fischer Building.

In 2006, the Pudding River Watershed Council implemented important projects through some strategic collaborations and by increasing opportunities to network.  Here are just a few that we accomplished within and adjacent to the watershed thanks, in large part, to generous support from the fantastic members and partners:

·         Completed a Pudding River Watershed Assessment

·         Conducted outreach to enable locally-driven subwatershed level projects

·         Cultivated projects with municipalities, businesses, and citizen groups

·         Developed F.O.R.E.S.T. to provide youth education and workforce development lessons along with interpretive kiosks to be sited on public lands and waterways

·         Developed and submitted a grant application to OWEB to fund a Pudding River Watershed Action Plan

·         Enabled three action-oriented, member-driven Subcommittees – Finance,     Public Involvement, and Watershed Restoration Projects

·         Hired a public interest, private business, Cascadia Planners LLC, to provide    us with planning, coordinating, grantwriting, project management and other program staffing and watershed services

·         Participated in a steam clean-up within the confluence area of the Willamette, Pudding and Molalla River Watersheds at Molalla River State Park, as well as clean-ups on Silver Creek in downtown Silverton and at Silver Falls State Park

·         Won a competitive grant to start Phase I of a two-phased project for improved salmon and steelhead fish passage in the headwaters (at Abiqua Creek Dam near Silverton)

At the end of the year, we applied to OWEB for 2007-2009 Support Grant funds and launched an ambitious matching funds campaign.  We are very excited about our recent accomplishments and are committed to expanding our watershed services.

Grounded by history but with our collective eyes clearly focused on the future, we strive for transform the greater Pudding River Watershed area into a healthy and sustainable place to live, work, and recreate.

We’d Like YOU to Get Involved!  Come Join the Family!  Your participation will make a big, big difference, and you’ll soon find that……. the Proof’s in the Puddin’ !!!!!!!
