The Council organized and held a demonstration project in February 2005 related to fuel reduction methodologies.  Council personnel demonstrated mechanical methods for fuel reduction.  The project was conducted at the grade school in Wimer, Oregon.   Approximately two acres of heavily wooded land was treated adjacent to the school.  There was no cost to the school district for this service.  Such fuel reduction activities help reduce the occurrence of catastrophic wildfire that can severely impact the health of the watershed.
